Ninsei Nonomura
Kyoto was recognized as a places for production of ceramics at the end of the Momoyama era - at the end of 16th century. His real name was Seiuemon Nonomura. He was born in Miyamacho in Kyoto. He came to Awataguchi in Kyoto and learned a ceramic skill. Later, he established a kiln in front of Ninnaji and produced ceramics such as "chatou" a bowl for drinking "matcha", thick green tea of "tea ceremony". He also had great talent for china painting. He is considered to be a person who accomplished Kyoyaki with hand-painting.
His brand name is "Nin-Sei". "Nin" comes from "Ninnaji" and "Sei" comes from "Seiuemon". He produced the works with this brand name and those were nobly elegant and stylish.


His most important work: tea-jar with wisteria flowers - national treasure
