It is said, according to a survey, that about a half of the world population would be living in urban areas by the year 2000. We, the town dwellers, therefore, need to make it a habit of paying more ecological attention in our daily life, and also improve our living condition(surrounding) to be more ecologically-oriented.To be more concrete;
make the city, where citizens can enjoy healthy environment in the nature,utilize convenient public transportation with much less noise and emissions, and avail of shops and stores offering commodities free from adverse effects on ecology.And we have to consider the followings in our city plans:
While retaining historical remains and cultural resources, make the best use of the traditional heritage as well as unique regional characteristics. Establish efficient material-handling network, where necessary goods are delivered in time. Improve those facilities to control public nuisances, equipping them with the updated systems with reduced disposable. Encourage those societies and groups who are exerting efforts to contribute towards environmental activities. Set up the system by which citizen opinions will be reflected to the administrative authorities, and also expand those installations for ecological-learning and advice. Make better association in the neighborhood for comfortable living, etc..The Green Map System, an active media of showing such city planning and checking the items required for the plans, is a worldwide project managed by ecology-minded designers from all over the world, who hope to make contributions to the people for their health and happiness and natural environment as well.
